Full course description
This self-paced course provides a comprehensive foundation in digital safety, responsible technology use, and cybersecurity fundamentals for Oklahoma educators of grades 5-12. Following alongside Oklahoma Academic Standards of Computer Science, participants will explore key concepts such as creating strong passwords, implementing two-factor authentication, and recognizing common cyber threats like phishing and malware. Emphasizing both physical and cybersecurity measures, the course highlights best practices for protecting personal data, understanding encryption methods, and promoting ethical digital citizenship. Through real-world examples and guiding questions, learners will develop an awareness of the legal and ethical considerations that govern technology use, empowering them to navigate digital environments safely, responsibly, and respectfully. This course takes approximately 3 hours to complete. Participants who complete the course will receive a certificate of completion and electronic digital badge showcasing time spent in the training and skills obtained.
