This online course provides educational information on drilling fluids used in the groundwater and water industry. It is beneficial for those in their early to mid-career who are looking to prepare for the NGWA General Drilling exam. This is one of eleven parts to the General Drilling Prep package and is also included in the Drilling Mechanics package. Approximately 4 hours; participants will have 3 months to complete the course.

  • Aquifer testing, injection, well set up
  • Boundary effects, flow tests, funnel viscosity
  • Testing preparation and execution
  • Types and functions of drilling fluids with management considerations
  • Mud analysis, hydrostatic pressure, buoyancy force
